Adam Cole-Kelly presents: Believe the Hyphen

I have a hyphenated last name that I've used as the basis for the name of my blog which in and of itself is a play on words. Clever's got a new home folks. Make yourselves comfortable.

Basketball and Comedy

Perhaps that would be the name of my one-man show if I ever had one. Tonight while I am at the Telephone Bar performing at the $1 room, my thoughts will be with my Exree Hipp brethren who will be trying to advance to the championship game. I'll also be very curious about the conclusions of the washington-louisville and Illinois-UW Milwaukee games. That probably doesn't bode well for the audience. I wonder if it will distract the audience and the comics if while we perform the games are projected onto the pull down screen right behind us.

I'm going to try to adapt some musings from the blog into jokes to tell on stage tonight. If it goes well, expect me to write many more jokey things in the near future. If not look for this blog to continue it's inevitable evolution into an open forum on all things ornithological.

You bet I can't predict the final scores of the four sweet 16 games tonight? You're on. I do enjoy a challenge.

Washington over Louisville 86-pi. (Though it will be closer than the final score suggests)

West Virginia bests Texas Tech: Infinity to 64 in quadruple overtime. Texas Tech guard Ronald Ross's triple double will be overshadowed by West Virgina's unprecedented scoring output.

Illinois edges UW-Milwaukee 75-71 (clutch free throws by Head seal victory)

and lastly

Oklahoma State and Arizona play to a draw. No victor, no spoils, lots of post-game cartwheels.

I'll reveal the secret to my power of predictions after the tournament is over and I'm on my way to the Caymans.

Go Hipp!
