I have a hyphenated last name that I've used as the basis for the name of my blog which in and of itself is a play on words. Clever's got a new home folks. Make yourselves comfortable.

Dreading Labor Day

The EMT in New York recently launched a new advertising campaign. One billboard is a picture of a street smart, cool guy sporting a lot of scruff and a leather jacket. Think Eric from Head of the Class. In addition to his picture, the following text appears on the picture: "I don't dress like you. I don't hang out with you. But I'll still save your life." Huh? Let me get this straight. Basically the message here is: "Hey you preppy prick, I don't like you and I know that you think you're better than me and as much as I'd love to see your ass die face down in the gutter, my professional sense of obligation won't allow me to do that, so as much as I hate to do it, I suppose I'll resucciate you." Brilliant ad campaign. If I ever need the help of an emergency medical technician I hope to be aided by somebody who embodies that rebellious spirit as much as the guy in the poster.

I watched Napolean Dynamite last night. For no particular reason I felt predisposed to be disappointed by it. Perhaps it's the insane amount of hype it received. However, much like my friendly neighborhood mail carrier, it delivered. Not that it will be that original, but I think if I were not to get my hair cut between now and Halloween I could pull off a mean Napolean. I'd also be pretty pumped to buy his glasses and I'd search the four corners of the round earth to find his t-shirt with a helicopter on it. Then again this may be the year to bust out the underrated, beautifully simple classic ghost costume. One sheet, a pair of scissors and strict adherence to only saying boo! all night long and that oldie but goodie is sure to please.

Only 33 days left to wear those white pants people, don't waste them. Trust me you'll regret it. Nothing like explaining the day's post title in the last sentence. It's how I keep you, the reader, hooked, that and typing in a little font I like to call Freebase crack narrow.

Until next time

Eric was definitely the best character on Head of the Class. Him and Dennis.
