I’m excited to report that I’ve just discovered that I’m going to be going on my very first comedy tour this weekend. Nashville, Tennessee, Birmingham, Alabama and Atlanta, Georgia: get ready to wet your collective Southern britches. I’m tickled pink to be joining rock n’ roll comedy duo Stuckey and Murray’s Family Reunion Tour. Comedians Matt Goldich and Andrew Goldstein are also going to be bringing the Southern Fried Funny. Up until now, I’ve never performed more than thrice in any given week. Counting last night, which shouldn’t warrant special mention since it is definitely in the same week as these four shows, I will be doing five shows in a week. Perhaps this will be the slice of lifestyle I need to thrust myself full force into performing more regularly. Conversely, it could be the wake-up call I need to enroll in that Kaplan GRE course. We shall see. I’m curious to see how my material will be received by audiences hailing from the South. I wonder if any of these cities are far enough south that birds migrate there in the winter. I think that would be a good ice-breaker type question for me to ask a member of the audience at one of the shows, especially an audience member wearing binoculars around his neck, because he might be a bird watcher and he’d probably answer my query with equal parts enthusiasm and sound knowledge.
I think the word roller deserves more credit than it receives. Not only does it transform a boring tabletop protective mat into a hair-raising, gravity defying thrill ride, it also morphs bland white fish into sassy footwear that is also a mode of transportation when worn in pairs or by a person with exceptional balance. May your tremendous abilities begin to be appreciated from here on out.
May yours’sess too.
